Statement on Regulating the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence Tools

To uphold and ensure the originality, authenticity and rigor of academic achievements, adhere to academic integrity, advocate a healthy academic atmosphere, and advance the development of academic norms, in accordance with the spirit of documents such as Academic Publishing Norms - Definition of Academic Misconduct in Journals (CY/T174-2019) and Guidelines for Responsible Research Conduct (2023), and with reference to the Guidelines on the Boundaries of AIGC Use in Academic Publishing, the Editorial Department hereby issues the following statement regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in the process of article writing and submission:

I. Statement of Authors' Responsibilities

1. Authors must ensure that the main content of the submitted manuscripts is their original research achievements.

2. No AI tool shall be accepted as a signed author of papers by all journals under the Editorial Department; manuscripts with the main content (including but not limited to more than 20% of core elements such as text, charts and algorithms) generated by AI tools will not be accepted for submission.

3. Authors shall bear full responsibility for the authenticity of data, the design of research and the reliability of conclusions in their academic papers. No literature with AI tools as authors shall be included in the references.

4. Authors shall be responsible for the use of AI tools in their articles and bear the corresponding legal and ethical liabilities.

II. Disclosure Requirements for AI Use

The use of AI tools is intended to improve research efficiency and quality, rather than replace authors' core research work. If AI tools are used for auxiliary work such as literature retrieval, data processing and chart creation in the process of paper writing, authors must submit the Statement on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence upon submission, and explicitly disclose the following information to facilitate reviewers and the Editorial Department to evaluate the originality of the manuscripts:

1. The name and version of the tools used, e.g., DeepSeek v2.3.

2. The specific application links, e.g., literature retrieval, image/algorithm generation (with attached original generation parameters and records of manual revisions).

3. The proportion of AI-generated content (counted by the number of characters), with a clear explanation of its generation process and annotations at the corresponding positions in the paper.

4. Authors must attach third-party authoritative test reports, such as Turnitin AI Detection and iThenticate.

Failure to fully disclose the above information shall be deemed an act of academic irregularity.

III. Statement of Reviewers' Responsibilities

1. Reviewers shall not violate the journal's confidentiality agreement by directly inputting manuscripts or substantive content under review into any AI model.

2. Review comments on manuscripts must be independently completed by reviewers, and AI tools shall not be used for direct generation of such comments.

3. If reviewers use AI tools for auxiliary review work (e.g., literature verification, data validation), they must mark the AI application scenarios and tool information at the end of the review comments to ensure the transparency of the review process.

IV. Commitments, Review and Accountability of the Editorial Department

1. To avoid potential risks of copyright infringement, privacy violation, and breach of safety and confidentiality obligations, the Editorial Department undertakes not to use publicly available generative artificial intelligence technology platforms for paper review in all links of initial review, secondary review and final review of papers.

2. The Editorial Department will adopt AIGC detection technology to inspect the content of submitted papers. Manuscripts with the "suspected AIGC proportion in the full text" exceeding 20% in the full-text detection results will be rejected or retracted.

3. The Editorial Department reserves the right to conduct long-term tracking and review of the use of AI tools in submitted and published papers, and will gradually improve the review mechanism for academic integrity and the impartiality of external review, including but not limited to adopting professional detection systems for AI-generated content and engaging technical experts to participate in external review jointly.

4. In case it is verified that authors have concealed or failed to truthfully provide information on the use of AI tools, the Editorial Department will deem it a violation of academic integrity and has the right to reject or retract the manuscripts.

5. If reviewers violate the above statement in the paper review and cause consequences such as information leakage or infringement, they will be prohibited from participating in the review work and bear corresponding liabilities when necessary.

V. The right to interpret this statement shall vest in the Editorial Department of Aerospace Shanghai (Chinese & English ).
